The race starts immediately after the burro race starts.
You don't run with your own donkey but with the burro racers 

Donations:
In addition to your entry fee, BVPBR encourages you to donate to help cover the cost of these races. So, we are asking our racers to help all they can. Our expenses to put on a race like this is expensive. BVPBR is paying for everything: Camping, Portable bathrooms, chip timing, Town and County, and BLM Fees. Your continued contribution will be greatly appreciated. You can or when you register!  This year donations will be distributed between the Buena Vista Heritage Museum,  Chaffee County Search and Rescue North, and the Buena Vista Pack Burro Race.
