  • 22800 Guest Ranch Rd, Cassel, CA, 96016 (map)

Weekend at Burney run/walk/crawl features a looped 4.6 ish mile course, providing a challenging and scenic environment for runners. All distances and timed options use the same 4.6 ish mile loop. The course takes runners through the natural beauty of the forest, showcasing its lush greenery, and gorgeous fall colors, diverse wildlife, and breathtaking landscapes. With each lap, runners will experience the varied terrain, including rolling hills, and wooded areas. Visit Baum Lake each loop and enjoy a beautiful starry sky at night. The course consists of flowy single-track trail and forest road. The looped course design allows participants to gauge their progress, and a convenient fully stocked aid station at the start/finish. The aid station will have traditional runner snacks, soda, water, electrolytes, hot food made to order, and a broth bar. A party on the trail! Burro race specific info

Welcome all burro racers! It is up to you to provide your own donkey! You are in charge of your own ass, sorry not sorry…
All burros will be treated humanely. No striking, dragging or mistreating in any way. Or you will be disqualified. All burros must have a pack saddle with shovel, pick and pan to get an official finish. I don’t care how your gear is attached to the saddle just that it is done so safely. Max length of 15’ rope for all burros. If you have a Jack you must be able to control him in an environment with pretty ladies that can be flirty. Your burro can not carry you but you are welcome to try and carry your burro…good luck with that. There will be water available and near by dry camping. No grazing so please bring your ass some food.
Let’s help this assome sport grow! Run the 4.6 mile loop as many times as your ass wants in 12hrs or choose the 4.6 or 13.8 option! (If you sign up for the 12hr burro race you can swap burros and flip flop the direction of the loop)
